Meeting Minutes

1.  Meeting was opened at 7:05 P.M. in the Training room of Memorial City Hall
In attendance were members: Peter Gabek, Michael Deming, Sam Swan, Betty Lewis, and staff member Michael Long. Guests included: Michael Chamberlain, Alan and Judi Shellenberger and neighbor Robert Orin……..

2. Approval of Minutes:  Motion by:  Peter Gabek, seconded by Jim Hutchinson to approve the minutes of the October 9, 2001 meeting as prepared without changes.  Approved unanimously.

3. Certificate of Appropriateness:      
A.  133 South Street link, however the original door will remain in tack (just not used as much). Long term he may add a rear deck and will include some grading at the site for the addition project.  Mr. Chamberlain offered to continue to review the project changes with Michael Long, as they develop to assure HRRB compliance.

Motion:  to approve as presented with substantial changes to be reviewed and approved by Michael Long. Motion made by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by Peter Gabek.  All voted in favor.

B.  144 South Street to approve the new structure.  

Motion:  to approve a maximum of 26 foot by 30 foot garage, windows to be approved by planning staff, siding (cedar or simulated concrete) and all roof and trim details to match original house, subject to Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) approval of over 750 sq. ft. accessory structures possible by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by Sam Swan.  All in favor - unanimous.


4. Other Items:

A.      Certified Local Government Application.  The city council is expected to vote on this at the Council meeting this Monday (due to Thanksgiving holiday).  Anyone available should plan to attend.
B.      Westminster Manor - Jim Hutchinson discussed the progress on the restoration of 87 South as they have hired a new architect and work is again progressing.  
C.      South Street Video project:  Mike Deming asked about hiring Lydia Rozelle to complete the script background information for Steve Gage to use.  Mike Long has been unable to find time to the draft finalized (distributed effort to date).  Motion to approve up to $500 for consulting research services for this project by Peter Gabek, seconded by Betty Lewis, all voted in favor.

5.  Next Board Meeting:
        The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. at Memorial City Hall
6.   Adjournment:       The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 P.M.  Motion by Jim Hutchinson, and seconded by Betty Lewis, with all in favor.
